Gerardo Guerra is a Mexican cinematographer known for his work on Dos Estaciones (dir. Juan Pablo González — Sundance Special Jury Award, Gotham Awards nominee) and Corina (dir. Urzula Barba Hopfner — SXSW Audience Award, Diosas de Plata, FICG Hecho en Jalisco Award), which premiered internationally at Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival and was produced by Mandarina Cine, Cobra Films, Alebrije Producciones, and IMCINE.


His cinematography spans fiction, documentary, and commercial work. Notable recent projects include Noche de Ficheros (dir. Anabel Casso), the fiction film Agua Caliente and the documentary La Medida del Tiempo (both directed by Juan Pablo González), and Jaripeo (dir. Efraín Mojica & Rebecca Zweig), supported by Sundance Institute, ITVS, Sony Music, HotDocs, Sheffield DocFest, Points North, and SFFILM.


He was second unit DP on Los Lobos (dir. Samuel Kishi), winner of the Grand Prix at Berlinale Generation, and lensed the documentary La Era de la Desconexión (FICG 2018).


His music video work has earned two Latin Grammy nominations and two MTV MIAW nominations. He has collaborated with artists such as Porter, Siddhartha, The Mud Howlers, Baltazar, Caloncho, Los Wookies, Gil Cerezo, and Kinky. Four-time winner of the Pantalla de Cristal Award for Best Cinematography and won Best Cinematography at the Mexican American Film and Television Festival (MAFTF) for the short film El Tesoro.


In advertising, he has worked with brands such as Google, Dairy Queen, Walmart, Bimbo, Corona, and Tequila Herradura, bringing a cinematic sensibility to commercial storytelling.
